>What is the difference between "hearkening" and "not hearkening"? I believe the difference is in "letting." The results of that are not passive. Colossians 3:15-16 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. >There are very serious hurts and needs among the people. Treating the word lightly means not allowing it to change what is not in line with it. A focus on the situation or the need is not a focus on the word. It is that simple. God is faithful. Thanks be to God for His word. That's how this planet and everything in it came into being. His word still has that power. This planet will pass away, God's word will not. The just shall live by believing His word. Isaiah 55:9-11 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. |
