Jeremiah 6:14-19 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace. Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD. Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken. Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it. >What is the difference between "hearkening" and "not hearkening"? I believe the difference is in "letting." The results of that are not passive. Colossians 3:15-16 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. >There are very serious hurts and needs among the people. Treating the word lightly means not allowing it to change what is not in line with it. A focus on the situation or the need is not a focus on the word. It is that simple. God is faithful. Thanks be to God for His word. That's how this planet and everything in it came into being. His word still has that power. This planet will pass away, God's word will not. The just shall live by believing His word. > Blessed be God and the Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Father thank you for your word. Lord, lead us to the word we need. Remind us of the word we already have in each decision. Illuminate our paths and cause us to step in the right direction, In Christ Amen. Thank you Father. In Jesus' name Amen. Isaiah 55:9-11 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Psalms 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
