For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. 1 Thessalonians 2:9 For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God. John 6:27-29 Labour not for the food which perisheth, but for that food which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Matthew 7:1-6 Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged:and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. >Faith in Jesus. The work of God. I wonder, how do you credit that in an ATM transaction? Jesus said the widow who cast in one farthing cast in more than all the rest. Couldn't our Lord count? Of course he could.... In dimensions not seen on the computer screen. How much is enough? The apostle laboured night and day in the Gospel. No doubt the blacksmith laboured from sun to sun and shod many a hoof...and the preacher ate the same meal? Where is the work of the blacksmith done in 51 AD today? ok.... Where is the work the Apostle done in 51 AD today? It would do well that the blacksmith had given the Apostle lodging and a meal let alone a smile and a handshake. That would require faith. If a person with a 9-5 Job would not work, should not the job be givein to someone who would? Nevertheless, neither soul shall be satisfied by the fruits of manual labor alone. Matthew 4:3-4 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, `It has been written, Not upon bread alone does man live, but upon every word coming forth from the mouth of God.' >Father we praise your holy name. Lord thank you for your word. Thank you for your son our savior Jesus Christ our redeemer who we have received and in whom we believe. Lord we confess we have allowed sin in our attitudes both in ourselves and others. Lord look not upon our failings of attitude...our sins transgression or iniquities, but upon the blood of Jesus Christ. Father if you were to regard iniquity who should stand? Thank you for your forgiveness and cleansing, heal and restore your Church to a right attitude of faithfulness and humility. |
