Rest with us

2 Thes 1:1-12 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of theThessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

>This passage does not say one thing about the destruction of sinners and people who have sinned. All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. Jesus bought us with his blood. This destruction is for those sinners who have not received the love of the truth. Does that seem unbelievable that someone would reject God's love? Amen. Now, how can we rest?.... In that God is faithful. He is making sure that everyone has heard he Gospel, many hear the truth and are saved....this is God's objective in this age..... we can recognize his calling when he leads us to say what we know of Him. When we are rejected or slandered, we remember our own faults are forgiven in Christ, then God takes it personally. This time is not to be compared to what he has prepared in Glory.

> Father thank you for your word. We have received Jesus and are living in your safety. The time grows short for this age. Help us to see the needs around us and the simple blessings you have given us to share with our neighbors. Just to remain in your love at the checkout. To be prayerful in traffic. To speak of your love when someone asks. When we see evil, rather than join it or attack it in the flesh, we remember the Gospel and the Power of God. We go where you lead and prepare for heaven as our true home. When we have gone where you didnt lead, we confessed our sins and you forgave us, Thank you father, for your mercy. You are faithful. All things work together for good to those that love you. To you be all glory in Jesus's name Amen.
