Matthew 22:15-22 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his words. And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men. Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not? But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? Show me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's. When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way. >God is Soverign. Are Christians in America the sons and daughters of God? Positionally, yes. Conditionally, it's a matter of heart attitude: 2 Cor 6:16-18 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. >Reproof in the Light of God's word does not cause harm to any Good thing. America does not require flattery to be good. In fact, the scripture says that flattery works ruin. Honesty is the best policy. Not "creative" honesty <cough>, but the honesty in our confession :Jesus Christ is Lord, for In God we trust. Letting God be God is awesome and dangerous to the works of darkness. They do not come to the light lest their deeds be reproved that they are evil. And I have noticed they also actively try to quench the light or overcome light by befriending Christians. But the light shines in darkness and the darkness overcome it not. Keep the faith.! Hallelujah! In Christ. Amen Isaiah|60:1-2 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory ofthe LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. |
