Jonah 2:9-3:3 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD. And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land. And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying, Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee. So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey. >After his ordeal, Jonah did not take off running! The Word CAME to Jonah first. Luke|24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. > The Deciples did not run off with the Good News in a head trip. Yes they had their commission, but yet without POWER. So He said to tarry until ye be endued with power from on high... Romans|8:13-16 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. >Nevertheless, all things work together for good to those who love God to those who are the called according to his purpose. If we've blown it by rushing ahead... what does he desire of us? Truth. Tell Him about it, confess the truth and put it right back into his hands. There really is plenty to do. Sometimes resting is something real important o do. God knows what's best. If we read soemthing in his word and it inspires us inside, eureka! We will walk in it by Faith in Christ!
