In the face of evil

Matthew|26:48-52 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast. And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him. And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him. And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Luke 22:53 When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

Here is an awesome passage. Jesus knew even before the company had arrived to take him that they were on the way. Jesus is God , he does not lie. He even saw the entire spiritual situation surrounding Judas and the band of guards, but Jesus did not have respect of the demonic principality at hand. Jesus had more respect for Judas. Judas was a man. Judas had the responsibility to choose his actions. Jesus' reaction was one of love unto the end. This could not be play acting. Jesus was looking for something good out of Judas even though he knew what would happen; as the scriptures fortold.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Love never faileth:

>Lord, thank you for your example, thank you for your love. We believe in you, help us to walk with true love in all our dealings without hypocrisy. In Christ, Amen.
