1 Peter|5:6-11 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that thesame afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 5:3-4 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not fitting: but rather giving of thanks. >The Devil seeks to get in wherever he can. I'm glad Paul wrote "yea I judge not mine own heart." Sometimes we seem to get carried away flirting with danger. Our head is going for superficial stimulation while our heart is saying this is not true. God is faithful. I have found that if I've gone off with my head impulsively at first, I can recognize that, and consciously wait upon the Holy Spirit in my heart to take over. Enduring temptation? The Holy spirit comes from inside and bears the fruit of self control at the most crucial time. God is faithful. I find that like nowhere else in this society has the Devil found a sure foothold into believers' lives than in the area of jesting and foolish talking. It is a demonic stronghold. Evil jesting and foolish talking are akin to fornication. Both look like love but both are false and self gratifying. As is the difference between fornication and sex in love, so is the difference between foolishness and true wit for edification. In The blood of Jesus, Father we praise your name, thank you for Jesus. Father forgive our trespasses, we forgive all others. Lord lead us not into hard testing but deliver us from the evil one. We are delivered and have authority in Christ Jesus. You do not permit us to be tempted above that we are able, but with the temptation also provide us with the way to escape. We flee fornication, so we flee evil jesting. But from the Devil we do not flee. We resist the Devil and he flees from us. May it be so. Amen. May the strongholds of the Devil in the lives of believers be cast down. God bless the Church. In Jesus' name Amen. God Holy Spirit, reprove of sin and of righteousness and of judgement for the prince of this world is judged. God bless our sobriety. Come in Lord Jesus abide with us we abide with you. Heal us from sins, transgressions, and iniquity. Your blood was shed for us. You know who is yours, God bless the brethren in Christ Jesus In Jesus' name. Amen. Thank you Father. Abba Father. |
