James 4:13-17 Come, now, ye who are saying, `To-day and to-morrow we will go on to such a city, and will pass there one year, and buy and sell, and make gain;' who do not know the thing of the next day; for what is your life? for it is a vapour that is appearing for a little while, and then is vanishing; instead of your saying, `If the Lord may will, we shall live, and do this or that;' and now ye glory in your pride; all such glorying is evil; Therefore, to him, then, that knows to do good, and does it not, to him it is sin. James 1:11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways. Jas 1:22-25 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your ownselves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and immediately forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. >James was the natural born brother of the Lord Jesus Christ. The theme of his epistle is Practical Christian Living. It is my opinion, that while growing up, James observed his elder brother as one who carries out good ideas; i.e. Jesus is not just a dreamer.
