Romans|13:3-4 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good,and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Peter had a Sword in the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus said to put it away. Why? God's will. God did not give men a Sword to take from him and run with. Men by their own understanding do not know what God is doing. 1 Cor 8:2-3 "And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. But if any man love God, the same is known of him." James|1:17-21 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begot he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man works not the righteousness of God. Wherefore put away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. Psalm 130:4 "But there is forgiveness with thee that thou mayest be feared." Romans|1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness; The wrath of WHOM!!??? God. from WHERE!!!? Heaven. Humility, huh? ref: Jesus did not stone the woman who had broken the law, he took the cross for her instead. John 8 I have the discernment of Spirits. This power comes from God for the purpose of the edification of the Church. I can see a lot. Great. What good is that without love? 7 times out of 10 God does not give it to me to say anything to people. 10 times out of 10 he gives it to me to pray. Our Gifts are in God, but we are not the head. Love is the whole picture. If we know right from wrong in a situation, our first charge is to pray for God's will and blessing to be done. For the love of God, we pray that men turn from sin to Christ. Jonah did not see this power at first, but that did not diminish it's Glory. Love never fails. Love works no ill to it's neighbor. May we be doers of the word and not hearers only. Amen.
